We at Kimbrough and Company do recommend high quality properly installed gutter guard systems. If gutter guards are of good quality and properly installed, they can be quite helpful.
Not only does the system slow down how often the gutters must be serviced, but having it will also put you in a place where you no longer have to worry about the tricky fall gutter cleaning rush to make sure the gutters are clean. The type of systems that we install and recommend are called Shur Flo and Easy Flo. In some cases we can and will install other systems, but these two are our first choices.
We have yet to see any system that is totally fool proof, where in all cases you never have to worry about maintaining your gutters, but both the Shur Flo, and Easy Flo are two of the best when all factors are considered. They both keep out most if not all debris. The only draw back that we have found is that they like the others still need cleaning from time to time (of course not as often as before). Much of the debris will blow off but over time depending upon how close the trees are and the type of trees the property has, a certain amount can remain on top of the gutter guards.
When we do come out to service the gutters with this system we clean off the top of the gutter guards and then spray through the Shur Flo system afterwards. If by chance anything did get under the shur flo and was not be sprayed out (very rarely does this happen) we will open up the shur flo system and remove any debris.
